Change

Anytime you want to go through a change, you have to be aware of something. Your brain is going to fight back.  Your brain is completely content doing as little as necessary to survive and get by.  The last thing it wants is to do is change the same routine, the same habits, the same day to day systems that it has set up for you.  Change causes anguish and stress.  Understand that you will more than likely fail many times on whatever change you want to make in your life.  The thing to remember is that these are temporary in nature unless you allow them to dictate your life path.  If you desire something enough, you will put up with whatever setbacks that come your way because you see the light at the end of the tunnel.  You are not your mind.  Don't allow your mind to control you, control your mind.

Primacy Effect

From Wikipedia:

"The primacy effect, in psychology and sociology, is a cognitive bias that results from disproportionate salience of initial stimuli or observations. For example, a subject who reads a sufficiently long list of words is more likely to remember words toward the beginning than words in the middle.

The phenomenon is said to be due to the fact that the short-term memory at the beginning of whatever sequence of events is being presented, is far less "crowded" and that since there are far fewer items being processed in the brain at the time when presented than later, there is more time for rehearsal of the stimuli which can cause them to be "transferred" to the long-term memory for longer storage."

In ENGLISH, and how it applies to social situations, is the FIRST IMPRESSION. When we first meet a person, or even before that if they are set up in some fashion, we filter all the information following the initial impression BASED ON THAT. So, in other words, if you come off as an asshole right off the bat with someone, everything you do from that point forward will be viewed through that lens. You could be the nicest person in the world, but since you were having a bad day when you ran into this other person for the first time, you are forever an asshole no matter what. Let's try to avoid bad first impressions, they last a long long time. One simple way to remedy the bad first impression is to apologize, to say "I am so embarrassed by what I did." Three things happen. First, you admit that you were wrong. Second, you admit you're human...and people like it when you make a mistake and show humility by admitting wrong. Lastly, you show that you're honest. To make a great first impression, SMILE! Simple. Using positive language helps as well. NO matter how bad your day or life is, just remember the be in the best of spirits when you meet someone for the first time. It lasts long after you go your separate ways.

Get The Life You Want

I have been reading Get The Life You Want by Richard Bandler, the father of NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) and I wanted to share the first of many exercises that he includes in the book.  This one is simple yet very powerful the more you practice it.  I will be posting more of them as the days pass, but for now, enjoy this.

HOW TO FEEL WONDERFUL EXERCISE


1)   Think of a time you felt wonderful.

2) Close your eyes and imagine that time in vivid detail.
See the image clearly, hear the sounds loudly, remember
the feelings as they were then.

3) Imagine yourself stepping into that experience and
imagine being in that memory as if it's happening
now. See what you'd see, hear what you'd hear, feel
how good you'd feel. Make the colors stronger and
brighter if that helps. Notice how you were breathing
back then, and breathe that way now.

4) Pay attention to the wonderful feeling in your body
and get a sense of where the feeling starts, where it
goes, and the direction it moves in. Imagine taking
control over the feeling and spinning it faster and
faster and stronger and stronger through your body as
the feelings increase.

5) Think of a time in the future where you could use
these good feelings. Spin these feelings throughout
your body as you think about the future and the things
you are doing over the next few weeks. Don't be too
surprised if you find yourself feeling really good for
absolutely no reason.

Techniques for enlightenment also banish depression and anxiety ,,, Brain waves.

It is estimated that 1/3 of Americans experience depression and anxiety at some point in their life. I will share my personal findings of the cause and the cure.

The good news is the path to enlightenment does banish the baser emotions of fear. So how can we cultivate and feel on every level the power of the purest Love? There are many many paths ,,, all with some merit. I will tell you my thoughts and techniques that have worked for me.

State Brain Wave Frequency Associated With
Beta 14 – 21 cycles per second (cps) and higher Waking State, the five senses. Perception of Time and Space
Alpha 7 – 14 cps Light sleep, meditation, intuition. No Time & Space limitation.
Theta 4 – 7 cps Deeper Sleep, Meditation.
Delta 0 – 4 cps Deep Sleep. You are unconscious at Delta.

The trick is to lower your brain wave frequency while remaining awake. It used to take years of meditation to train your brain to reach these lower brain waves. Now with head phones and a cd your brain can be trained very quickly ,,, often in the first session you can feel the difference. Time seems irrelevant and visions flow. This accompanied with control of internal dialog is enlightenment!

Until you find the brain sync cd that serves you the best try this simple method. Feel your eyes are sleepy ,,, you feel relaxed like you are falling asleep. Imagine a metronome clicking ,,, clicking slower ,,, and then slower yet.

I use my own metaphor. Beta is the lizard mind. Fight or flight are only the basic choices. Stuck in Beta; irritable, too aware of every second, trapped there long enough there is depression.

When you drop your brain wave to alpha there is the mammal mind. You have multiple choices and it is impossible to be depressed.

Being able to induce/control any/all of these brain waves at will *especially Alpha/Theta ; along with the positive potential of internal dialog(the voice that talks in your thoughts) will give you mastery for your eternal present happiness. FILTER YOUR THOUGHTS accept only the Best.
,,, make every thought from the beta mind very small ,,, small and dim.

For each of these archetypes I will use a name to represent the brain wave for the sake of poetic license.

Delta-*deep sleep ,,, *peaceful oblivion Theta-*the mystic *connection to infinite Alpha-*mammal brain *man or woman of peace Beta-*lizard brain *the warrior *the beast

As you gather gratitude ,,, feel ,,, think you are almost sleepy ( feel it in your eyes ). This will slow your mind ,,, no effort is required ,,, just let the brain slow ,,, the mystic will enlighten the mammal ,,, the lizard mind slows, The warrior freezes

Remember the mammal is the lord over the lizard ,,, as this brings a plethora of new options for creation. The lizard only gives you two choices RUN or FIGHT. A woman (or man) of peace contemplates many choices as she embraces the peace that is always with her.

Paramount is love, as you enjoy each moment as it comes.



Print and read daily ,,, as your subconscious naturally will give you the ability to lower your brain waves at will.

Limiting Beliefs

Beliefs are just that.  They are not real.  You can choose to believe anything you want actually.  Imagine all of the great things that you could possibly want out of life, and now attribute the beliefs that are embedded in your mind to why you can't do those things.  Something so small as a belief can prevent you from so much in life.  On the same token, a positive belief can get you anything that you want.  Everything starts in your mind and branches out from there.   The ONLY thing that we have the ability to 100% control as a human being is our thoughts.  Take advantage of that.  It is our most powerful and vital asset since reality comes from our thoughts.  Don't be the one who looks in the mirror 20 years from now, only to see vast opportunities pass you by simply because you believed that you weren't good enough/strong enough/happy enough to do something.  Start believing in yourself today.
